 Favourite things

I boldly put my favourite things here; I find in life, at least in Australia, there is a distinct type of personality who wants to find out your favourite thing so they can destroy them. They are stupid, but unfortunately very real, and rife in IT nerd world. (curious to know if this happens in an idealic country like Vanuatu? I know it happens in America, as there have been songs written about it)

1. Walking around my huge Native garden at Rangari was my favourite thing, hard work rewarded - my cats would accompany me each evening at dusk, it was beautiful. (still getting over being 'cast out' of my home town) My garden was not finished. Gardening – good for the soul.

2. Ferns on the deck.

3. Cooking to fast music and eating good food (my fresh Apricots, Nutty broccoli, Crackling, Roast beef, Braised Brisket, Good Ceaser Salad, Hungarian Goulash, Beef Stroganoff, Butter shortbread, Double dipped dark Chocy Turkish Delight, Nice biscuits, Kingston biscuits, frozen Mars bars, Cup of coffeeeee, caramelised beef bits in the bottom of the roast pan 👌Orange jelly babies...!). When I was younger I loved listening to music, now, not so much, especially with the advent of stalking predator muscians, but here is a list of my favourites now.

4. Swimming in the Ocean. Rockpools.

5. Swing Ride Carousels!

6. Watching Grand Designs and So You Think You Can Dance, and good movies on Netflix whilst knitting. {I don’t watch commercial tv, don't even own a TV - they have lost the plot due to their’ weakness’, especially the ice-skating commentators}. I love autobiographies/ biographies (not criminal ones). I often wonder, (when it is not stated) - do those Hollywood people steal people's life stories? Do they wait for them to die and then make a movie about their life? Or do they sit down with them in the nursing home and obtain all the facts? Or do they have people that stalk them all their life, you know, famous ones, like the genius female chess player, takes notes as life goes on.... And, while I am at it, I like autobiographies, and not just of famous people who are celebrities, or famous and being really good at something or a part of something that’s successful, because, I’m thinking you know, if you’ve made it in life, so you have enough money to get an  architectural designed house built, then you pretty much are going to have an interesting life, and we want to hear about it. I mean like, examples I guess, “this could happen to you”! I have seen many movie autobiographies, I’ve noticed as I watch old autobiographies that were made in the 80s, they like to really embellish what has happened, they’ll say it’s based on a true story but parts of it are changed for ‘entertainment purposes’ - it’s like they don’t think we can handle the full truth, so they’ve just partly made a truthful movie. But I have noticed over the years, especially from 2020 on, and I’m glad to see, the autobiographies are, I believe more honest. Thank goodness.

{Sidebar; I have always stated in my life, that I would prefer to have a butler, rather than a husband, lol! And one of the dancers from SYTYCD (multicultural show, as in, normal show), I assume he was a he, and black, said, I would prefer a butler than a husband, because I was white, as in a white slave thing!!!!  he was making a joke! ha ha, I thought it was hilarious, mmmm I’m a total slave driver! Although, I would really like to have someone who could come and plait my hair every time I was it.....

7. Designing fabrics, looking at fabrics, looking at anything beautifully designed. COLOURS, Arts /crafts, looking at anyone who puts creativity in their life/ space/ clothing......

8. Pampering - as in spa, sauna, massage, treats. (When I turn 67 and retire, I plan on taking my pension and myself over to Thailand, permanently, and spending it all, on daily massage).

9. Favourite Tv Show: Grand Designs, and anything architect related (should have been an architect). I’m not really sure why a lot of new homes are so small, with small narrow corridors and small doors, so that one cannot even fit the fridge or fav armchair through. All my adult life living in rentals, I’ve had the same problem with small pokey rooms. Even some homes in the upper area of the market are still really quite small, or have small pokey areas within it (non-thoughtful areas). Not being a homeowner or homebuilder, maybe it’s not my place to say "come on, make them bigger and better" I mean maybe they just can’t. I don’t know. If I were building a house, it would be single story huge, no compromise on the footprint. So, I guess I wanted to express here, my exact feelings; I loathe small spaces, I loathe them! I guess that partly also explains my stance on population - population needs to be curbed, we are way past comfortable living capacity. I mean, maybe the fact that I was from a large family too, also contributes to my beliefs; really our family home was only three bedroom, with an extension lean-to put on later, for another room. But that still only made it four bedrooms, when definitely five were needed for a 6-person family. And actually a 5th bedroom was needed too, as we always had guests staying. I guess as a child I was never too concerned about it, did not really have to much concern for anything as a child, but I’m pretty sure we could’ve done with some extra room. I feel strongly about it now. I don’t think you should have kids unless you have enough room for them, make them really count with their own space, and not just tagged along. I am going to put here, I recall watching a version of my favourite show Grand Designs, in Australia instead of the usual good UK. One lady was showing off her home, I think it was in Tasmania, can’t quite remember all the details, but she was boasting about the fact that it was all built from volunteers, with the implication that they weren’t really volunteers, but they were forced to work for her, due to the governments Centrelink activity schemes (work for the dole – total scam). Even though this house was really lovely, I was kind of outraged by the obvious slave labour, and it just goes to show you what happens in Australia; some people really take advantage and wrought the system. I can assure you, young people, no matter what their stance in life, do not have to build some ladies house for no money, this was quite a disgrace. And I believe it still goes on. DISGRACEFUL.

And I guess while I’m on the subject, I pretty much feel anyone involved in WOLFERS, WWOOFers, Woofers, WWOOF ( would fall into the same category, almost tricked into working for free, under the guise of experience!! WE HAVE GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE!! You would have to be a sucker to work on someone’s farm in exchange for accommodation or lunch. I recall one couple in the UK, even demanding money from her workers to pay for food, whilst they work for her all day long free – UNBELIEVABLE- does she have powers of brainwashing? Because, they did!! and quite happily so!! I recall doing something like 16 weeks of work experience when I was 16 / 17 at various companies, and say, out of the 16, 1 of them was helpful, insightful, and a good experience. The other 15 just wanted free slave labour. It was NOT GOOD AT ALL, and the only lesson being experienced, is MOST people will use you, and take from you, and give you nothing back in return. (My parents were so naive) If I had kids, I certainly wouldn’t be encouraging them to do any “work experience” at all, or in fact taking on jobs with below pay, as in, apprenticeships and traineeships - a total scam, unless of course I knew who was doing the traineeship or apprenticeship, and I knew 100% that they wouldn’t take advantage and use my child, I would have to be involved. So, that’s no fun at all!

10. Best book I read as a 20yr old ‘The Celestine Prophecy’ – very helpful.

Favourite movies: Strictly Ballroom, 5th Element, Dirty Dancing, The Body Guard and BirdCage, I guess, plus The Remains Of the Day. I need to mention,  by the way, the movie in my iPad app, always has a cover photo with a little blurb below it, then there’s their title “Cast and crew”, but it doesn’t have any crew listed, it just has cast members, and only sometimes. The director is also mentioned, but it doesn’t have the most important person of them all, and that’s the writer of the story! I really don’t see how one could omit the writer (and or screen adapter writer).

11. Walking around within the Sydney Youth Orchestra while they were playing, in a special gig they were doing- it was amazing.See my favourite songs here

12. Horse Riding.

13. Growing flowers.

14. Essential oils.

15. Favorite quote: "We all need space. Unless we have it, we cannot reach that sense of quiet, in which whispers of better things come to us gently." – Octavia Hill

And

"When you arise in the morning think what a privilege it is to be alive, to breathe, to enjoy, to love, to think. Cease the day. You only live once." - Marcus Arelious (ancient Roman emperor and philosopher of peace, via Superman)

16. And of course, my cats:

My Cats - all 5

Without any dogs, (without any leeches!). I say without any dogs, because as I’ve mentioned before on this blog, I am followed around by disgusting female dogs where ever I go, so if I was fortunate enough to be able to go on one of these trips, I would again have dogs following me, from afar, harassing me and annoying me, as they continually do. BTW, I do wonder who pays for them to follow me? as they are dogs, they’re completely stupid, and can’t think for themselves, so who pays? Remember the time I travelled to Gosford for my grandmothers funeral – there was a plane following me around down there.

4 trains with sleeper cabins.jpg
scenic rail route from Perth, to Broome, to Darwin, then across to Lockart via the new und

You know Australian gov ought to build a scenic train line all the way up the coast from Perth to Broome, to Darwin, and over to Cooktown all along the coastline. The only reason they haven’t, I reckon, is because most Australians are completely lazy, so politicians don’t think they’ll be able to get anyone to actually do it. HOWEVER, I saw on YouTube, 2023, that Australia is currently building a new freight line all the way through the centre of Australia, and they have “robot machines’ to build it now, no hard work necessary – they just line it up and push a button!! Freight first, passenger tourist line next!

Also being up here near Mackay, I am a little disadvantaged when it comes to certain services. Actually, that’s kind of an understatement quite disadvantage up here in North Queensland, there are a lot of unskilled people up here. Anyway, as such, I would like to go down to Melbourne to see the osteo, and take my sewing machine down there too, to be serviced. And wouldn’t it be nice if I could just hop on a train at Mackay, then go all the way down the coast, through NSW, all the way to Melbourne. I’d get a sleeper carriage to myself, and have a lovely relaxing trip lying down watching the countryside go past, I can think of no better way to get down to Melbourne. Yet, can I do this? No, I can’t. There’s no such train! I could catch a train part of the way, but it doesn’t have sleeper carriages; so of course I couldn’t do that, as I’ve mentioned I have my monumental problems on public transport, and I would need a private sleeping compartment.

And I guess while I’m on the subject of trains, here is a good spot to mention; when I was doing my research for trains, there was one train in Australia that has a sleeper compartment. I found out all the prices for that train, even the just plain economy seats. And all were so expensive, that it would be cheaper for me to pay for fuel to travel the distance. I thought this over expense absolutely ridiculous. The whole point of a train is to make it cheap, affordable alternative transport. I was thinking why on earth is it so expensive, and then I realized why it’s so expensive and that’s because of all the problems I’ve had with the train people. I’ve mentioned before; I had the toll trains stopping at the Miriam Vale crossing, I had a train caboose stopping on my rental farm at Colloseum (and stealing from me). I have the trains harassing me here at Sarina by way of ‘toot’, plus they put the crossing lights on, when there’s no train. So, that’s why they charge so much; because it is a play-toy for mongrels who have no skills, and are just complete bogans that would get paid a whole big salary - that which, the customers have to pay for. It’s an unfortunate bogan Australian scam issue, which I don’t see them fixing any time soon,  because I think possibly, I’m the only person in Australia that has noted this problem, and has mentioned it in public {nothing gets fixed if the problem is not even acknowledged in the first place}.

Btw after I wrote that wishfully thinking bucket list; that day, I visited Mitre 10 to return 4 mistakenly purchased plumbing parts (that they had overcharged me for anyway) {ha}, but when I was in there, they signed “You won’t be able to do any of those things, you will be doing nothing in your retirement”. Careful dogs, someone else might just hear you and want to spite you.

And when I was at Bundaberg Mitre 10, they later stole my hanging basket that I had just purchased there, brand new. And last time I was at Sarina Mitre 10, someone stole 2kg frozen roo mince out of my locked car/ eski.

All hardware shops are thieves.

My favorite routine from SYTYCD, Pasha and Sabre do the Quick step, amazing routine, amazing choreographer, amazing costumes and amazing dancers – this dance for me, captures the essence of all dances BRAVO, absolutely terrible footage, and even then, they will probably try and shut my blog down for copyright - way too precious, but they would have to actually talk to me, so I don’t think they will. I don’t believe there is better footage, well, less pixelated than this, in existence. At least that little bit gives you a feel of ‘dancing’ – and dancing ought to be compulsory in all schools! Good for the soul!

Here is how you give a proper foot massage! Unfortunately this guy is based in Canada, so I can’t book an appointment, and I’m pretty sure no one in Australia would know how to do it like this guy.

I can honestly say knitting has changed my life;

I no longer have to wait anymore. I started knitting because I found receptionist (especially at Drs) kept me waiting for hours -once I started knitting, my life changed, my waiting time was cut down to like 5 minutes. Females are such a pervert’s (secret) apparently if you knit, your “boring”! Although I did have a problem with the girls stealing my knitting needles.

Once at Centrelink at Parramatta I was kept waiting five hours - really, nooo hard feelings at all. If only I had a photo of those bimbo receptionist.

I’ve started to take photos of them when I enter a building now, same across all receptionists in all areas -  it works, they do not want other people to know they are merely little pervy bitches, but sometimes they follow me after I leave, and steal from me, usually from the locked car, but often from my house.

Anyway, since someone at Ravelry (a knitting website where I used to have all my patterns for sale, for just over 10yrs - and I sold heaps of patterns), since someone is friends with the girls who are stealing from me (the bimbo receptionists – there’s a whole dog network.) I won’t mention any names, (CASEY FORBES) she removed my whole profile page, including my profile picture, aswell as my pattern!! I told her that my profile page was a MY profile, and not their profile – she did not care (They are total non-thinking bimbo Nazis - the problem cannot be fixed if you’re not aware of it sillies, and ha, as it was up there for 10yrs before you nazied it!

Stand up to bullies, and have some bloody guts admin, the problem cannot be fixed if you’re not aware of it. This is life – not a classroom, you silly women.

Those women that run that website, discriminate against other women who are not married.

Yet another person/business, that could be sued for discrimination.)

Actually, I think those women that run that website secretly think they are rich, and superior – a better class, therefore they don’t have to worry about any of the worlds problems, that’s for other people to do something about, all they have to do is stay ‘positive’ all the time, and get rid of anyone who suggests all is not good – (like what stupid bimbos do).

Facebook admin are exactly the same. Also I believe guilty NEGS girls were responsible for that (there is a lot of puppetry that goes on in life).

So, I will put all my patterns here, and make them available for free. They used to be $2 on Rav, with the condition that if you had no kids, then you could get any of my patterns for free, or if you were a dancer, free for you, except if you were a Spaniard, because of the cruel Spanish bullfighting, all Spaniards should be ashamed of themselves. But now they are free to everyone, as I found online knitting magazine women were stealing them anyway. (I did sell quite a few,  but I suspect they purchased them after someone stole something from me)?

All patterns for sale come from a liberated home, and free of alcohol and drugs - I like to be of sound mind always, there are way too many dogs trying to rip you off and take advantage, you would be stupid not to pay full attention whenever in public, (especially at Bunnings and Harvey Norman - those staff prey and steal from young women – third born halfwits)

I love beautiful yarns, I love looking at beautiful things, and I love people who take pride and effort in their daily choice of dress - I don’t mean spending on expensive brands, I mean dressing with thought and creativity. Besides, in healthy populations, dressing well, commands respect , and everyone wants respects.

My mother taught me to knit in my final year of school; I created a wonderful technicoloured coat from neck to ankle. I went on to complete a diploma in Fashion. I worked 10 years in the fashion industry. I ‘rediscovered’ knitting a few years ago, and I have taken much interest in learning and researching various knitting techniques and garment construction. I have many designs and hope to do more in the future.

I have made a decision to keep fibres natural, and I find myself on a textile journey, growing and producing my own fibres, and discovering natural dyes. I have taught Knitting, a course at the Gunnedah Community College.

Any comments or pattern troubles email me, I will only be too happy to help. (Don’t be afraid!) Since I still have not uploaded the PDFs, email me and I will send it to you. So far no one has, which suggests to me that either this website is not working or at any rate there is no traffic here.

As a renter all my adult life, all I can do is dream about my 'real' house, and here it is:  (btw, if you can't afford to buy your kids a house when they turn 18 - don't have kids, its just not worth it if you don't have your own home). Victims pay rent.
But, ofcourse, the ultimate goal is to build your own, so you can have all that you want, rather than a cost-cutted version of a home. May I suggest, before building on your perfect dream spot, that you go there and live in a mobile home to get a feel for the spot,  figure out which way the summer winds blow so you can place big windows high up to catch that beautiful breeze, not to mention where the sun rises and sets in summer and where it will rise and set in winter, for AM and PM windows. Also when it rains, which way mostly, where does the water run. Do you really need to disturb the land at all, or can you put the house on stilt foundation.Things like that....
